Colby Henley
COMMUNITY COORDINATOR
As the Community Coordinator for Infuse, Colby is the main point of contact and administrator of the program and the support staff member available to participants. Colby is especially known for two things in our city of Tucson. The first is his longterm faithfulness to his church and the second is for his in-depth engagement with his community. With a degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Arizona he worked for nearly two decades in environmental consulting before entering into the field of urban transit advocacy. His driving passion has become to help unchurched people who are focused on justice and doing good in the city see the connection between these passions and their design as creative and care-giving image bearers of God. He regularly brings such people into his circle of church community and people from his church community into relationships with his un-churched neighbors and friends in the city.
He and his wife Karen have lived in Rincon Heights, an historic neighborhood in the heart of Tucson between the University of Arizona and downtown, for 12 years. They enjoy sharing dinner with neighbors on their patio, exploring the city by bike, and most of all, spending time with their five grandchildren. They have been active in neighborhood leadership and love to engage in creative placemaking and playful urbanism as ways of connecting and developing relationships with their neighbors. Karen works for a non-profit that seeks to build unity between Christian churches in the city. Colby dreams of starting a coffee shop in their neighborhood, that is designed for the neighbors, and with relationship building in mind.
